Steven Quirin

Doctor of Engineering in Materials Science and Engineering

My research is currently in the field of materials testing and process engineering. I develop solutions for different scientific and industrial tasks, especially concerning hybrid systems and composites. An overview of my last professional experiences is listed below:

  • Lightweight design in product development
  • Multispectral Thermography and Infrared Spectroscopy
  • Heater and simulation of heat transfer and convection
  • Tightness and leak measurements
  • Microstructural analysis of the join in hybrid systems
  • X-ray Computer Tomography
  • Ultrasonic testing

Philosophy

Innovative processes and products are characterized by increasing understanding or complexity inside and easy use on the outside. To create something extraordinary, it's necessary to interlink scientific knowledge and progress with technical application and practice. As a materials scientist and engineer, I got the requisite know-how to evaluate the physical scope as well as the technical approach. I think
